for those wondering, Marielle had proficiency testing 3 months ago, plus a nightmarish set of final exams in all subjects. a word about public schools. it takes the time it takes to go through all the grades because whether its a 12 month, or a standard 9 month, you have to take away for weekends, kids beef if they have to go on Saturday and so would the teachers, holidays like thanksgiving, and Christmas, spring break, or winter break, whichever its called depends on the school system, the teachers in service days, the early dismiss days, and the parent teacher conference times. and so its not really the full 9 months. but if it were, as it is with home schooling, do the math, 4 years of school regular, is four years, but home schooled it 36 months, or three years, in 54 months you can finish 6 years of regular school! [that's 4.5 years that's 1.5 years saved ] Marielle's school said she had 12 months to complete each grade, but could work as fast as she could handle it and test showing she knew the material. this includes quizzes, regular tests and exams.
