a word to the wise

we all get told what we do in high school can follow us in as much and far as messing up attempts to get into 'good colleges'.
considering the current events in our lives right now, it should be remembered and passed to the younger folks [you in your 20's and 30's with small kids..let them know] that even minor events that are now so old they blow dust can come back with a vengeance to kick you in the nether regions.
Brian, at 19, was having a big night out, south of Minnesota in the pain in the butt end state of Iowa, he decided speeding might be fun, which resulted in a traffic stop, which produced irritation in him I have never witnessed, enough ire was produced for him to talk back to a Clear lake Iowa officer of the law. And so, a simple speeding ticket, became a charge of "interfering with an officer" which is a misdemeanor, which resulted in handcuffs, and being hauled in to the cop shop, bail was needed and mom had to be called and lawyers gotten, and while this case was dismissed and the ticket for speeding plead guilty to and a fine paid, now that he needs to get a security seal at the airport to work the the US Customs area, this came up in a background search and has resulted in a mess of long distance phone calls, pulling a dismissed cold case up, one already adjudicated and grown old and forgotten and we are fighting to get that seal. Customs is attempting to take a second bite from a closed, old apple, which of course, this criminal justice grad wont allow to happen, stay tuned for the results, and keep this in mind...you never know what those aberrant moments in our lives can mean decades later..what customs is attempting is tantamount to being declared "not guilty" by a jury and then being slapped into jail anyway, regardless.
